ESP Random Star Navigator RS-220
Akira Takasaki was responsible for selling a million of these Random Stars in various styles in Japan over 30+ years. OK slight exaggeration but there is certainly no shortage of this wacky shape in any guitar store in Japan, where Loudness and guitarist Akira are revered as rock royalty. However the early original RS-220 with silver Navigator logo, as it appears in the 1983 ESP catalog, is quite significantly harder to find. Exact year of manufacture is unknown, but almost certainly mid-80s, it has the revered ESP LH-150 pickups and the Flicker tremolo. The rich rosewood fingerboard projects quality, and the paintjob is amazing and holds up to this day.
Reproduced in 2016 as the "Red Legacy" limited edition, complete with correct Navigator logo, it came reliced by the ESP Custom Shop and cost $5k USD for the trouble (at the time)
